Experimental Study of an Induction Motor Using Scalar Control Method Applied in Electric Vehicle

This paper present the scalar control method applied in an electric vehicle, witch use an induction motor for its drive, where the
dSPACE MicroLabBox is used as a real time interface (RTI) for SIMULINK. At first we present the induction motor model in the dqo axis,
and the control method, then we present the dynamic model of the vehicle. Finally, the figures show materials used, and the experimental
results obtained by experiment software Control Desk.

Experimental implementation of low-cost and robust sensorless control based on SOGI-FLL estimator for electric vehicles

Sensorless control techniques of electric motor dedicated to electric vehicles (EVs) offer low-cost and high operating performance. In this paper, a low-cost and robust speed-sensorless control scheme based on a second-order generalized integrator-frequency-locked loop method (SOGI-FLL) is proposed with only one current sensor. The SOGI-FLL is introduced to estimate accurately the motor angular speed from a measured current signal. While the scalar control technique, based on a single loop speed regulation, is used to determine the control signals. According to the proposed control scheme, the overall system will be very effective in terms of low-cost control and easy practical implementation, which have a great impact on electric vehicle applications. dSPACE micro labox platform is used to implement the proposed control scheme to drive an induction motor. The obtained results confirm the effectiveness and high performance of the proposed control to properly estimate the angular speed and drive the induction motor.

Contribution à l’optimisation et à la commande adaptative des entraînements électriques soumis à des défauts multiples

This work is a contribution to the improvement of electrical drives, whose energy
consumption is an economic and industrial challenge. For this , we have proposed an
improvement of electric drive with an asynchronous motor by the application of improved
direct torque control. This last is articulated on the one hand on:
• The increase in the number of sectors from 6 to 21.
• The use of a four-level hysteresis regulator instead of two levels.
On the other hand on:
• The application of the MRAC reference model adaptive control for estimating rotational
speed.
Firstly, this improvement led to the optimization of the electric drive energy by
minimizing the stator flux and electromagnetic torque ripples, which reduced the losses and
consequently increased the efficiency of the electric drive. Secondly, it lowered the
mechanical vibrations, this further implied the stability of our drives and improved the
performance ratings of the electric drive. And the application of adaptive control theory has
reduces the complexity of the electrical drive and its cost.
