English Writing For Publication In International Journals: Basic Criteria In Globalization Era
Publishing research articles in international journals has become
a precondition to PhD graduation in higher education. In the era
of globalization, non-native English PhD students devote much
scholarly attention to English writing for publication purposes
to share and author their own academic researches for
international journals. Thus, this paper aims to demystify the
most important requirements of English writing for publication
and draw some strategies to successfully publish written English
manuscripts in international journals. Along this line of thought,
a documentary analysis of 12 different research manuscripts of
non-native English academics was undertaken. To cross-check
the data, a questionnaire was directed to the manuscripts’ owners
and the peer reviewers of journals. The findings reveal that
manuscripts which are successfully accepted for publication have
features related to both macro and micro criteria. The former
includes the procedural strategies that allow manuscripts to be
highly and immediately accepted from the first sight such as the
originality or timeliness of the work, its direct relevance,
appropriateness and interest to the journal targeted, and itseffective contributions and solutions to the new emerging era
problems. The latter incorporates the specific details and segments
that reviewers spot at the second sight such as maintaining
coherent and cohesive texts, using authentic and well-cited
references, providing relevant arguments, framing data to appeal
to different audiences, discussing and synthesizing the results.
Depending on these findings, a number of recommendations are
provided to remediate the situation.

STUDY OF THE PERFORMANCES OF A SELF COMPACTING CONCRETE BASED ON WASTE GLASS POWDER ADDITION
ABSTRACT
Self-Compacting concrete (SCC) is highly fluid and takes it is cast without vibration. This property can be obtained by using plasticizers and increase the volume of the paste (cement mixture) to ensure a good distribution of coarse aggregate.
However, to ensure a sufficient volume of the cement mixture, there are two possibilities, the first is to increase the amount of cement, which results in a high amount on the economic level and the risk of cracks due to a large thermal expulsion, on the technical level. The second method is the use of various mineral additives, represented most of the time In by-products.
The aim of this research work is to highlight the advantages of household waste such as glass bottles in self-compacted concrete. Suggested glass powder produced by crushing bottles less then (80 μm), on the properties of self-molding concrete. Different pourcentages were taken ((5, 10, 15 et 20 %) to formulate mixtures.
The results showed a positive effect for glass powder with regard to the rheological and mechanical properties of concretes made with proportions ranging up to 20% of the weight of cement. Generally, it could be concluded that such use of waste glass powder could contribute to formulating senvironnmantal concrete within the same performances as conventional concrete.

CHEMICAL ACTIVATION EFFECT ON THE MECHANICAL RESPONSE OF MORTARS BASED ON DUNE SAND
The main qualities sought for a mortar are usually; the high compactness, good sealing or
impermeability, better mechanical strength and long-term durability. The different methods of accelerating setting and hardening of the mortar as well as the desired characteristics are of great importance with
regard to the use of mortars and their different applications in civil engineering. This work is a contribution to improving the properties of mortars at fresh and hardened state by different activation techniques
in particular chemical alkaline activators method. The properties of chemically activated mortars using
alkaline solutions (KOH and NaOH) at dosages of 0, 2 and 4% was investigated in this experimental
program using a based cement matrix with dune sand and blended cement type CEM II/ B grade 42. The
results obtained showed the beneficial effect of the chemical activation modes mainly, an improvement
of the mechanical response (compressive strength) at young age and in the long term.
