This study investigates the characterization and potential applications of almond shell biomass from the Sétif region (Northeast Algeria) as a biosorbent, with a focus on its interaction with Suwannee River Fulvic Acid (SRFA). X-ray Diffraction analyses reveal well-defined peaks corresponding to lignin, cellulose, and hemicellulose in the almond shell, with cellulose showing high crystallinity. The SRFA-modified almond shell exhibits changes in peak intensity, suggesting a partial reduction of cellulose and hemicellulose, possibly due to the insertion of SRFA fractions. Fourier Transform Infra-Red spectra confirm the presence of cellulose, hemicellulose, and lignin in the almond shell, while interactions with SRFA lead to altered peak intensities, indicating the potential for acid or base treatments to enhance efficiency. UV/Visible analysis shows a decrease in absorbance after contact with SRFA, suggesting adsorption of SRFA onto the almond shell.

The mobility of toxic metals in soils or sediments and their transfer to surface and groundwater is a major issue since it has an impact on environment and human health. Organic matter and clay minerals in the soil, and in particular their organo-clay complexes, play a major role in the retention of pollutants. The Suwannee River Fulvic Acid (SRFA) is a reference natural organic matter that forms bonds with surface groups of mineral particles such as clays, and interacts with metal ions in the soil solutions. Experiments were done to better the formation of aggregates of SRFA and sodium montmorillonite (MMTNa) or kaolinite (Kaol) (natural or Cu 2+exchanged). The results of SRFA adsorption on clays and the characterizations by XRD, FTIR, TGA and UV/Visible spectroscopy show that both clays form bonds with the aliphatic CH2 and CH3 moieties and the C-H moieties of the organic matter aromatic structures. The prevailing mechanism is hydrogen H-bonds formation and ligands or complexes.

nous pour des considérations purement politiques. L'Europe s'apprête à affronter une crise énergétique sans précédent, sans doute plus grave et plus systémique que celle du krach
pétrolier des années 1970. La guerre en Ukraine,. La crise est accentuée par les choix énergétiques des Européens : sortie du nucléaire (Allemagne, Belgique, Suisse), extrême dépendance de l'Allemagne et de l'Europe centrale au gaz russe ou encore choix français de différer, depuis dix ans, son programme de renouvellement de centrales nuclé
Par biomasse, on entend l’ensemble des matières organiques végétales et animales constituées de molécules à base de carbone et d’hydrogène qui se sont formées par photosynthèse
de la lumière solaire. La biomasse exploitable est constituée essentiellement de déchets agricoles et sylvicoles, agroindustriels et ménagers. Elle constitue une énergie primaire renouvelable sous réserve que son prélèvement préserve la ressource agricole et forestière. L’énergie de la biomasse est actuellement extraite soit par combustion (30% électricité, 70% chaleur), soit par fermentation anaérobie (méthanisation : 60% CH4, 40% CO2), soit par gazéification à haute température des déchets peu fermentescibles. Ces deux derniers procédés sont aujourd’hui exploités pour produire industriellement des biocarburants liquides, méthanol et ses dérivés (79 Mtep en 2017). Ils sont aussi capables de produire de l’hydrogène à
partir du syngas (CO + H2), étape commune aux deux procédés, en le prolongeant par la thermolyse à haute température et séparation de l’hydrogène.
C6H9O4 (biomasse) + 2 H2O → 6 CO + 6,5 H2 (900 - 1 200°C).

Abstract: The Algerian montmorillonite clay in raw and purified form was
evaluated as adsorbent for Crystal Violet (CV) cationic dye. The experimental
results show that, the adsorption was pH independent when the adsorption capacity
of CV dye was unchanged for large initial pH. The pseudo-second-order kinetic
model provided the best fit to the experimental data for the adsorption of dye by both
clays. The equilibrium adsorption data were analyzed by Langmuir, Freundlich and
Dubinin-Radushkevich isotherm models. The best fit of experimental data was
obtained by the Langmuir isotherm model. The maximum adsorption capacity of the
raw clay calculated by the Langmuir isotherm model is 330 mg·g-1 at 20 °C. It is
increased in fractionated sodic clay sample (381 mg·g-1). The effect of temperature
on the adsorption of crystal violet was investigated. The results show that the
enthalpy of adsorption of CV is negative signifying that the process is exothermic.
Physisorption is the prevailing mechanism for dye adsorption. Negative value of
entropy shows an ordering of the adsorbed dye at the surface of adsorbent
throughout the adsorption process. The negative value of ΔG° indicates the
spontaneity of adsorption process. The increase in ΔG° value when the temperature
was increased indicate a decrease in feasibility and spontaneity of adsorption at
higher temperatures which confirm the physisorption nature of crystal violet.

In Oil-Based drilling fluid systems (OBM, for Oil-Based Mud) the oil phase is the major source of contamination
and hydrocarbon pollution is, by far, the main concern. However, the release and accumulation of mud additives
in the environment may be deleterious on grounds of volume and/or concentration. This paper describes a waste
valorisation study from an antibiotic large-scale manufacturing for the preparation of a new drilling fluid additive
(Fluid-Loss-Control agent: FLC) for OBM. This additive is environment-friendly, biomaterial in nature, and
totally biodegradable and thus expected to have no detrimental effects on the surrounding environment and
ecosystems. After product washing, heating, grinding, and screening, a cationic surfactant was used to improve
fluid stability and filtration properties. Our results show that: According to drilling fluid requirements, the
treatment of this pharmaceutical reject yields a product with good properties, i.e. satisfactory as far as thermal
stability, filtration characteristics, and rheology property are concerned, - The pre-treatment of those products
(according to their original state and particle size, as well as the type and concentration of added surfactant)
enhances additive quality and shows good compatibility in drilling fluid systems, - The substitution of this new
product for conventional additives affords good drilling fluid stability and performance under high temperature
and high pressure (HTHP) conditions, economic, and environmental solutions to improve the environmental
standing of OBMs further.

La plupart des industries, y compris les textiles, les usines de pâte à papier, les cuirs, les plastiques, les cosmétiques et les produits pharmaceutiques nécessitent l'utilisation de diverses matières premières et produits chimiques de sorte que les eaux usées qui en résultent contiennent de nombreux éléments métalliques et composés organique nocifs. Notre travail s’intéresse à la valorisation d’un sous produit issue de la biomasse, à savoir, la coquille d'amande, dans le but de l’utiliser comme biosorbant. Pour cela nous avons utilisé le SRFA (Suwannee River Fulvic Acid, USA) connu pour avoir influencé les propriétés du sol après interaction avec les minéraux et les métaux se trouvant dans les sols. Les résultats des analyses IRTF, DRX, ATG et UV/Visible confirment que la coquille d’amande adsorbe les fractions C-O des oléfines (alcènes) et C=C des aromatiques. Il ya une certaine affinité pour la matière organique et une interaction avec les molécules de SRFA ce qui aboutit au fractionnement de ce dernier. Après contact avec le SRFA, il y a élimination partielle de la cellulose et de l'hémicellulose au profit de SRFA, donc il y a bien insertion de certaines fractions de SRFA. La capacité d'adsorption (en % de masse) est de 48%, valeur permettant de considérer que notre échantillon peut-être utilisé comme biosorbant. Pour une meilleure valorisation, certaines modifications (traitements acides ou bases) doivent être apportées pour augmenter sa capacité d'adsorption.

This work aims to assess the adsorption selectivity of the organic matter
fractions contained in Suwannee River Fulvic Acid (SRFA), on three Algerian clays. SRFA
is a natural organic matter contain a large number of functional moieties such as carboxylic,
phenolic and alcoholic groups that interact with surface groups as well as ions in solution.
The selected clay minerals are phyllosilicates (2:1 family) namely "industrial load
bentonite" (noted BCI), "drilling bentonite" (noted FB2) and "treated bentonite" (noted BT).
After bringing SRFA into contact with the clays, characterizations by XRD, FTIR and TGA
before and after contact were realized. The results showed a remarkable and distinguished
affinity of the SRFA fractions toward the three clays and allowed us to establish the
following order: BT > BCI > FB2. BT clay (rich in Na and Ca) adsorbs and retains almost
of all SRFA fractions, whereas BCI clay adsorbs only a few fractions: alcohols, acids
(O−H); aliphatic (C−H), phenol-acids and sugars (C−O); aromatic (C−H). However, for the
FB2 clay, it only adsorbs the alcohol, acid (O−H) and aliphatic (C−H) fractions. The
proposed mechanism is due to interactions (electrostatic, hydrophobic) and ligand
exchange. The adsorption is favored according to the swelling nature of the clay, for the
least negative zetapotential, for the lowest “natural” pH and the highest CEC. It can be
concluded that BT can be considered as a reservoir of organic matter and that the BT/SRFA
complex will contribute to the structure of the soil, the capacity of water retention and the
reduction of oxidative reactions thus playing a major role in the cycle of various nutrients
and pollutants.

Résumé. Le SRFA est connu pour avoir influencé les propriétés du sol et interagir avec les argiles et les métaux se trouvant dans les sols. Notre étude a montré que les bentonites algériennes adsorbent les fractions aliphatiques CH2 et CH3 et les fractions C-H dans les structures aromatiques à un ou plusieurs cycles après leurs mises en contact avec le SRFA. Les résultats des analyses ATG, IRTF, DRX confirment que la bentonite BCI-Cu2+ a plus d'affinité pour les molécules de SRFA et plus d'interactions que la FB2-Cu2+, et ce vu son potentiel zêta qui est le plus négatif, sa grande surface spécifique, sa capacité d'échange cationique et sa composition chimique. Le mécanisme d'adsorption est dominé par la formation de liaisons H et de ligands ou de complexes. Il y a une compétitivité entre la fraction organique et la fraction minérale pour l'adsorption des ions Cu2+ pour former des complexes bentonite-Cu2+, SRFA-Cu2+. On pense que les ions Cu2+ ont servi de pont entre la matière minérale et la matière organique et ont aidé à l'adsorption de SRFA. La capacité d'adsorption suit l'ordre suivant: BCI (59,37%) > FB2 (37,50). Après échange au Cu2+, le taux d'élimination de la matière organique est de: BCI/Cu (81,25%) > FB2 (62,50%). Après activation chimique à l'acide nitrique (0.1N), les deux bentonites ont la même capacité d'élimination de SRFA (BCI= FB2= 99,06%). On peut considérer que les modifications apportées aux argiles ont contribué au fractionnement et à l'adsorption de la matière organique.

Abstract. Thermal safety assessment of chemicals and chemical processes is based on the interpretation of signals as they can be obtained from a wide set of commercially available devices. Despite the large number of existing techniques devoted to thermal measurements, none of them perfectly fulfils its purpose in view. This is often a consequence of the important time constants ruling the heat transfer processes. For any reliable safety assessment, hazardous systems require accurate both thermodynamic (equilibrium state) and kinetic (transfer rate of energy and matter) characterization. The heat transfer time constant, give rise to raw thermo-analytical and calorimetric results that nearly always integrate a more or less important contribution of both of these two aspects. They find their source in the sample itself but also in the sample holders, the thermal sensors or even in either other component of the calorimetric device. The aim of this contribution is to point out some ways to overcome time-constant induced signal modifications and to restore the original information from raw measurements as provided by the available instrument. For safety purposes, it is important to be fully aware of all contributions acting on the signal generation and to distinguish clearly the thermodynamic factors which are sample size independent from the kinetic factors which strongly depend on the sample size. Further, the importance of the effect of non-thermal potentials on the thermal behaviour must be assessed with regard to unexpected possible dangerous transformations.

The industry uses benzene as a solvent and raw material for organic
synthesis and therefore occurs in releases, phenol is also likely to exist
in water of industrial origin, it oxidizes with difficulty, adsorbs little and
filter weakly. Cyclohexanol is amphoteric (donor and proton acceptor),
it was chosen to make comparisons. In the present work, the granular activated carbon chosen was characterized by different
methods. The kinetic adsorption study, in the liquid phase, was conducted using adsorbed quantity - square root of the contact time to
elucidate the diffusion of these molecules through the liquid film to the superficial sites of the surface of the solid, which allowed us
to understand the influence of some physicochemical properties and the structure of choices molecules on the phenomenon of
elimination of pollutants. The results obtained illustrate the competitiveness and adsorption specificity of the molecules as a function
of the structure, the grouping, the affinity towards the solid and the porosity of the surface of the latter. The results showed that the
molecules chosen are preferentially physisorbed, although some chemisorption can be detected. We have been able to measure the
surface tensions by the method of tearing off the ring in order to reach the surface occupied by each of the molecules at the level of
the surface of the coal. In this study we assume that the external resistance to mass transfer from the liquid to the surface can be
neglected as a control step.

L’industrie utilise le benzène comme solvant et matière de base pour la synthèse organique, de même le phénol susceptible de se rencontrer dans les eaux d’origine industrielle, il s’oxyde difficilement, s’adsorbe peu et filtre faiblement, de même que le cyclohexanol amphotère (donneur et accepteur de proton) a été choisi pour faire des comparaisons. Dans le présent travail du charbon actif granulaire a été utilisé, il a été caractérisé par différentes méthodes. L’étude cinétique d’adsorption, en phase liquide, a été menait en utilisant des courbes quantité adsorbée-racine carrée du temps de contact pour élucider la diffusion de ces molécules à travers le film liquide vers les sites superficielles de la surface du solide ce qui nous a permis de comprendre l’importance, l’influence de quelques propriétés physico-chimiques et la structure des molécules sur le phénomène d’élimination des polluants. Les résultats obtenus illustrent une compétitivité et une spécificité d’adsorption des molécules en fonction de la structure, le groupement, l'affinité vis-à-vis du solide et la porosité de la surface de ce dernier. Les résultats ont montré que les molécules choisies sont préférentiellement physisorbées, bien qu'une certaine chimisorption peut-être détecté. Nous avons pu faire faire des mesures de tensions superficielles par la méthode de l’arrachement de l’anneau afin d'aboutir à la surface occupée par chacune des molécules au niveau de la surface du charbon. Lors de cette étude on suppose que la résistance externe au transfert de masse à partir du liquide vers la surface peut être négligée comme étape de contrôle.

Nous avons étudié le mode d’action des biocides et les conditions de leurs actions sur les bactéries sulfato-réductrices. Ces derniers sont les principales responsables des phénomènes de corrosion en absence d’oxygène. Plusieurs types de corrosion sont constatés au niveau des circuits de transport du pétrole au champ de Hassi Messaoud: corrosion localisée due à la présence d’oxygène dans les circuits fermés, corrosion sous dépôt ou aération différentielle rencontrée souvent au niveau des dessaleurs, des échangeurs et à l’intérieur des conduites et corrosion en crevasse due à la présence du fer. Les BSR peuvent agir soit par contact direct avec le métal en utilisant l’hydrogène formé à la surface soit à distance en consommant l’hydrogène gazeux. Lorsqu’on ajoute un aldéhyde, un biocide ou un mélange à un milieu de culture contenant une population bactérienne, il est important de comprendre à quel niveau agit-il sur les microorganismes car après un temps de contact d’adaptation, les substances sont consommées et le processus n’est pas enrayé. L’étude constitue une contribution à la compréhension de l’action corrosive des bactéries et leurs activités hydrogénase dans les eaux d’injection et les eaux contenues en émulsion. Des tests d’évaluation de l’efficacité des biocides, pour remédier à la corrosion des conduites transportant du pétrole et l’acheminement de ce dernier, ont été effectués ainsi que leur mode d’action. Des mesures de pH du milieu de culture en fonction du temps et de la forme des pièces métalliques ont été étudiées. Des courbes de cinétique de croissance des BSR dans différents milieux en présence de biocides ont été aussi réalisées. La seconde partie de ce travail s’intéresse au phénomène de corrosion en étudiant l’élimination des gouttelettes d’eau contenant les BSR. En effet l’injection de biocides est favorisée en présence d’émulsion stable à base d’ammonium quaternaire qui permet d’augmenter la surface de contact et abaisser la tension superficielle ce qui facilite l’entraînement des gouttelettes d’eau.

This paper analyses the impact of the increased use of natural
organic materials (NOMs) from Suwannee River (USA).
Aqueous solutions were contacted with clays materials to study
their specific adsorption and/or possible alteration by combined
high resolution ICR-FT (soluble NOMs) and FTIR (sorbed
NOMs). The present study aims at initializing research with ICR
on the effect of clays and three-dimensional porous materials in
selectively sorbing molecules and fragments contained in various
NOMs. In the presence of clays minerals, new techniques have
been developed to study NOM interaction behaviour with clays.
When soluble NOMs are in contact with natural clay minerals or
with selected (meso-) porous synthetic materials, they are often
selectively adsorbed in these substrates, so that their analysis
before and after contact may help to understand the complex
natural processes and further give hints for possibilities to use
similar or other synthetic inorganic surfaces to monitor and
control such modifications in relation to their bio-active
significance. While clays retain aromatic molecules through an
original mechanism, materials adsorb less bulky compounds, due
to their shape and selective properties.

L’étude cinétique d’adsorption en phase liquide a été menue en utilisons des courbes quantités adsorbées-racine carrée du temps de contact pour élucider la diffusion de ces molécules à travers le film liquide vers les sites superficielles de la surface du solide ce qui nous a permis de comprendre l’importance et l’influence de quelques propriétés physico-chimiques et la nature des molécules sur le phénomène d’élimination des polluants. Nous avons pu avoir accès aux tensions superficielles par la méthode de l’arrachement de l’anneau. Le charbon actif utilisé est du type Allemand, a été caractérisé par différentes méthodes. Les résultats obtenus illustrent une compétitivité d’adsorption des molécules en fonction de leur taille, groupements, affinité et la porosité de la surface du solide.

Aqueous solutions of natural organic materials (NOMs) from Suwannee River were contacted with clays materials to study their specific adsorption and/or possible alteration by combined high resolution ICR-FTMS (soluble NOMs) and FTIR (sorbed NOMs). The measured several tenths of thousands of exact masses allowed the calculation of sum formulas of soluble NOMs and their visualization in Van Krevelen diagrams. While clays retain aromatic molecules through an original mechanism, materials adsorb less bulky compounds, due to their shape selective properties. A 12 Tesla Apex-Q Fourier transform ion cyclotron mass spectrometer (Bruker, Bremen, Germany) using flow injection mode and electrospray (ESI) infusion ionizations, was used to analyze the probes. Aqueous NOM samples extracted by reverse osmosis from Suwannee river water collection standards (SRFA) provided by the International Humic Substances Society (IHSS), were stirred at ambient temperature for 48 h with layered aluminosilicates, to study structure-specific sorption phenomena. The clays used were montmorillonite 2 (Mont-2) from Mostaghanem region, Nord Ouest Algeria; the bentonite (bento) from the deposit of M’zila (ENOF) Mostaghanem unity and the montmorillonite 1 (Mont-1) from Roussel Maghnia deposit, North West Algeria.

Asphaltenes covered kaolinite, illite, and montmorillonite clay particles were prepared by asphaltenes adsorption from water-saturated toluene onto the mineral surfaces. The alteration of the surface and aqueous colloidal properties of the clay particles, as resulting from asphaltenes adsorption, were assessed by various methods such as by Microelectrophoresis, Washburn contact angle, Nitrogen-adsorption/desorption, Fourier Transform Infra Red spectroscopy, X-ray diffraction (XRD) measurements, and Scanning Electronic Microscopy. The data indicate that the upon asphaltenes adsorption, the clay particles become hydrophobic, their contact angle with water increase, their surface charge, surface energy, and cationic exchange capacity are reduced. Furthermore, according to XRD data, no swelling of the clay by asphaltenes occurs in the water-saturated toluene, indicating that asphaltenes cover the clay’s external surface and lead to their aggregation, either in water or in the vacuum dried state. Finally, we elucidate the mechanisms by which asphaltenes adsorb and modify the clay surface characteristics. Such mechanisms involve mainly interactions that occur between the asphaltenes surface groups and silanol/aluminol groups of the mineral.

Les interactions acide-base jouent un rôle crucial dans le contrôle de ces interactions. L’approche standard pour déterminer l’énergie libre de surface des solides et l’énergie interfaciale entre deux surfaces en interaction, ou agissant l’une sur l’autre, est de faire des expériences de mouillage. La méthode de l’angle de contact (indirect)est largement la plus répandue pour caractériser les propriétés externe des surfaces des solides.
La méthode d’ascension capillaire présente un avantage principal qui réside dans le fait qu’il n’est pas nécessaire d’agglomérer préalablement les argiles dans l’eau. On évite ainsi la resédimentation préférentielle, ainsi que la formation de films imperméables gênant la montée capillaire. Elle présente aussi un inconvénient, qui est aussi un avantage. En effet, ces mesures d’angles de contact sont réalisées en présence de vapeur d’eau. C’est alors l’énergie macroscopique de surface du solide, proche des conditions naturelles, que l’on détermine. Ceci est donc particulièrement intéressant pour une approche de la mouillabilité des argiles dans les gisements.
La description des propriétés de surface des argiles met en évidence la complexité et la très grande diversité des minéraux argileux. Les substitutions, l’état d’empilement des feuillets et les impuretés sont susceptibles d’influencer les propriétés de surface des minéraux argileux.
Les énergies de dispersions diminuent quand les argiles sont couvertes d’asphaltènes. La valeur du % de dispersion augmente pour les kaolinites qui deviennent plus hydrophobe, diminue pour les illites et les montmorillonites.
D’après la littérature, les phénomènes d'adsorption ont été principalement attribués aux propriétés acido-basiques des surfaces latérales des particules argileuses qui sont constituées de liaisons coupées. L’approche communément admise est une approche de type Brönsted. Quel que soit le modèle utilisé pour interpréter les mécanismes d’adsorption des espèces chimiques en solution sur les minéraux argileux, il apparaît qu’interviennent à la fois les surfaces basales et latérales des plaquettes argileuses. Pour rendre compte des interactions entre les argiles et les espèces environnantes, nous admettons qu’il faut utiliser l’approche de Brönsted et également la description de Lewis.

In order to throw light on the mechanism of organic compounds–clay interactions and to control the preparation of hydrophobic fillers, the effect of asphaltene adsorption from water-saturated toluene onto various clay minerals (kaolinite, illite) was studied. The modification of the clay surface charge and wettability were characterized, respectively, by microelectrophoresis and Washburn contact angle measurements. Further, the alteration of the surface area and chemical composition of the clay particles due to asphaltene adsorption were assessed using various methods such as N2-adsorption/desorption, X-ray diffraction (XRD) measurements, FT-IR and scanning electronic microscopy. The data indicate that upon asphaltene adsorption, the clay particles become hydrophobic, their contact angle with water increases, while their surface charge and surface energy are reduced. Dans les roches réservoirs constituées de grès argileux, les asphaltènes (constituants lourds du pétrole brut) s’adsorbent fortement sur la kaolinite et faiblement sur l’illite et les autres minéraux de la roche .Cette différence de comportement des argiles vis-à-vis de l’huile de pétrole est liée aux propriétés de surface des argiles. Par ailleurs, l’adsorption des asphaltènes sur les argiles modifie la mouillabilité de la roche et réduit l’écoulement du pétrole en direction du puits. L’objectif de notre travail est d’élucider le mécanisme par lequel l’adsorption des asphaltènes sur les argiles modifie la mouillabilité de la roche. Ainsi, au cours de ce travail nous avons utilisé deux argiles, une kaolinite et une illite qui ont été purifiées et caractérisées. Nous avons examiné ensuite, à l’aide des techniques comme la microscopie électronique à balayage (MEB),la BET, la diffusion dynamique de la lumière (DDL), la microélectrophorèse (ME), les effets de l’adsorption des asphaltènes sur la taille et la charge de surface des particules argileuses. Les résultats obtenus indiquent principalement quatre conséquences qui résultent de l’adsorption des asphaltènes sur les argiles. Ainsi, après adsorption des asphaltènes, nous avons observé une diminution de la charge de surface, de la surface spécifique et de la capacité d’échange cationique des argiles

Dans les roches réservoir constituées de grès argileux, les asphaltènes (constituants polaires des pétroles bruts) s’adsorbent fortement sur la kaolinite, et faiblement sur l'illite et les autres minéraux de la roche. Cette différence de comportement des argiles vis-à vis de l’huile pétrolière est liée aux propriétés de surface des argiles. Par ailleurs, l’adsorption des asphaltènes sur les argiles modifie la mouillabilité de la roche et réduit l’écoulement du pétrole en direction du puits. Ce changement de mouillabilité des particules argileuses vis-à-vis de l’eau conduit à leur agrégation en particules plus volumineuses, soit dans l’eau, soit après séchage sous vide.
Le mécanisme d’interaction asphaltène-argile fait intervenir les groupes polaires des deux composés et dépend de la nature de l’argile.
Enfin l’ensemble des résultats indique l’existence d’une corrélation entre les propriétés de surface des argiles (charge de surface dans l’eau, angle de contact à l’interface argile-solvant organique ou aqueux) et leurs propriétés adsorptives en présence des asphaltènes.

In order to throw light on the mechanism of organic compounds–clay interactions and to control the preparation of hydrophobic fillers, the effect of asphaltene adsorption from water-saturated toluene onto various clay minerals (kaolinite, illite) was studied. The modification of the clay surface charge and wettability were characterized, respectively, by microelectrophoresis and Washburn contact angle measurements. Further, the alteration of the surface area and chemical composition of the clay particles due to asphaltene adsorption were assessed using various methods such as N2-adsorption/desorption, X-ray diffraction (XRD) measurements, FT-IR and scanning electronic microscopy. The data indicate that upon asphaltene adsorption, the clay particles become hydrophobic, their contact angle with water increases, while their surface charge and surface energy are reduced. Furthermore, according to XRD data, no swelling of the clay by asphaltenes occurs in the water-saturated toluene, indicating that asphaltenes cover the clay's external surface and lead to their aggregation, either in water or in the vacuum dried state. Finally, we elucidate the mechanisms by which asphaltenes adsorb and modify the clay surface characteristics. Such mechanisms involve mainly interactions that occur between the asphaltenes' surface groups and silanol/aluminol groups of the mineral.

In oil fields, the reservoir rock consists mainly of quartz, clays, ferric hydroxide or aluminium hydroxide. Thus, the oil retained in the reservoir rock is in contact with various mineral surface types. Illite and kaolinite are the main clays present in the rock. Such clays have higher surface areas and surface charges and play an important role in the oil uptake process. Many works have shown that asphaltenes, which are the crude oil polar component, adsorb preferentially on clay surfaces. In addition, in crude oil, asphaltenes aggregation or phase separation may occur under unfavourable solvent conditions. It should be emphasised that asphaltenes are the crude oil fraction, which is insoluble in heptane and soluble in aromatic solvents like toluene. The aim of the present work is to throw light on the mechanism by which asphaltene molecules interact with clay surface. The asphaltenes were adsorbed from water-saturated toluene onto kaolinite and montmorillonite clays. Further, in all experiments, toluene was saturated by water order to have in the medium less aggregated clay particles.

Upon adsorption of asphaltenes onto various clays, the mineral surface charge is reduced and the aggregation of the clay particles is enhanced, as observed, respectively, by microelectrophoresis and scanning electronic microscopy (SEM). Further, the samples aqueous dispersion properties such as the natural pH and the electrical conductivity were found, in all instances, to be lower for the asphaltenes covered clays as compared to the bare minerals, indicating reduction by asphaltenes of the clay's CEC. It is shown that the asphaltenes adsorption from water-saturated toluene onto clay is higher for the solid mineral having in water and at natural pH, the lower surface charge, the highest particle size and presenting the highest yield point for flowing.

A very low interfacial tension, γ, can be achieved between an oil phase and an aqueous solution containing anionic surfactant and salt at a very low concentration. This phenomenon can have potential applications in recovering residual oil from the reservoir through low salinity–low surfactant enhanced oil recovery flooding. Measurements of γ between n-heptane and aqueous solution of anionic surfactants .

The surfactants, which may be ionic or non-ionic, molecular or macromolecular, natural or synthesised, are used in wide industrial applications to fulfil different requirements. Hence, the macroscopic properties and/or the behaviours of the final products containing the surfactants are under control of their surface properties such as surfactant adsorption and electrical charges. In the present work, we focus particularly on the colloidal dispersions developing electrical surface charge at the solid-water interface. The zeta and streaming potentials are used here as a tool to study the detailed features of charge and potential distribution at clay-water, carbon-water and silica-water interfaces, in the presence of ionic molecular or non-ionic macromolecular surfactants.

The mechanism by which a solid surface acquires its charge in an electrolyte solution was found to affect calculated rates of particle deposition almost as dramatically as the charge itself. This is due to the mechanism's effect on changes in surface charge density, which occur as the surface approaches another charged surface

When the added amount of different surfactants changes, the influence of the surfactant on the white carbon DBP and surface area was studied on the conditions of the same or various content of SiO2. A slower oil recovery was observed with montmorillonite in comparison with kaolin (Figure 5), which is the opposite of the wetting behavior seen in the liquid-liquid extraction tests (Figure 4). This difference is attributed to the significant swelling of the montmorillonite powder during hydration, which reduces pore and interparticle space so that both liquids become trapped [Jada et al., 2006]. [22] Forced imbibition was used to investigate the process of liquid penetration and interface evolution in packed particle beds (Figure 6).

We present a simulation experiment of a cometary nucleous, with simple compounds detected in comets, in the presence of minerals. As a result more than 18 compounds have been formed and also we show the alteration of these products by the presence of mineral surfaces.

Notre étude concerne les eaux contenues en émulsions dans le pétrole brut. En effet, dans les gisements pétrolifères, les hydrocarbures sont presque toujours associés à de l'eau ce qui est une conséquence de leurs genèse. En jaillissant sous pression à la surface, ces deux phases sont souvent intimement mélangées sous forme d'émulsion ou dans la plupart des cas l'eau constituent la phase dispersée. Les interfaces entre un liquide et un liquide sont caractérisées par des forces d'attractions en déséquilibre entre les molécules d'eau en surface et celles qui se trouvent au sein du fluide. Les substances qui ont des effets de tension sur les surfaces ou tensioactifs sont souvent utilisés pour augmenter l'efficacité des biocides par dispersion des colonies ce qui permet une rupture de l'émulsion et ainsi une meilleure récupération du pétrole.

Here, the data show partial clay surface charge screening by the asphaltenes, which may result from a mixed wettability. Finally a correlation is found between flow behaviour, particles size, surface properties of the bare minerals and the extent of asphaltenes adsorption.

The amine 3,3'-dichloro-4,4'-diaminodiphenyl (1) is used for the preparation of 7,7'-dichloro-2,2'-diethoxycarbonyl-5,5'-bis-1H-indole (2).This was accopmlished by transfering the amine diazonium salt. The reduction of this diazonium salt followed by condensation with ethylpyrovate gave dihydrazone compound; which is seprated on column chromatography to provide the following isomers: syn-syn, syn-anti and anti-anti. The cyclisation of that dihydrazone with EPPA gave 7,7'-dichloro-2,2'-diethoxycarbonyl-5,5'-bis-1H-indole.

The adsorption of citrate ions at the Hg/aqueous CitNa3 interface was studied, using both differential capacity and electrocapillary measurements. The results contrast with those obtained previously by Barradas etal. The hump of the Cd–E curve increases as the concentration of the solution increases to 0.5 M, to diminish beyond 1 M. The plots of vs. q⁻¹ are linear and parallel to one another for the different values of q, which is in agreement with the results obtained by other authors for different anions.

Nous avons étudié le mode d’action des biocides et les conditions de leurs actions sur les bactéries sulfato-réductrices. Ces derniers sont les principales responsables des phénomènes de corrosion en l’absence d’oxygène. Plusieurs types de corrosion sont constatées au niveau des circuits de transport du pétrole au champ de Hassi Messaoud : corrosion localisée due à la présence d’oxygène dans les circuits fermés, corrosion sous dépôt ou aération différentielle rencontrée souvent au niveau des dessaleurs, des échangeurs et à l’intérieur des conduites et corrosion en crevasse dus à la présence du fer. Les BSR peuvent agir soit par contact direct avec le métal en utilisant l’hydrogène formé à la surface soit à distance en consommant l’hydrogène gazeux. Lorsqu’on ajoute un aldéhyde, un biocide ou un mélange à un milieu de culture contenant une population bactérienne, il est important de comprendre à quel niveau agit-il sur les microorganismes car après un temps de contact d’adaptation, les substances sont consommées et le processus n’est pas enrayé. L’étude constitue une contribution à la compréhension de l’action corrosive des bactéries et leurs activités hydrogénase dans les eaux d’injection et les eaux contenues en émulsion. Des tests d’évaluation de l’efficacité des biocides, pour remédier à la corrosion des conduites transportant du pétrole et l’acheminement de ce dernier, ont été effectués ainsi que leur mode d’action. Des mesures de pH du milieu de culture en fonction du temps et de la forme des pièces métalliques ont été étudiées. Des courbes de cinétique de croissance des BSR dans différents milieux en présence de biocides ont été aussi réalisées. La seconde partie de ce travail s’intéresse au phénomène de corrosion en étudiant l’élimination des gouttelettes d’eau contenant les BSR. En effet l’injection de biocides est favorisée en présence d’émulsion stable à base d’ammonium quaternaire qui permet d’augmenter la surface de contact et abaisser la tension superficielle ce qui facilite l’entraînement des gouttelettes d’eau.

Les changements climatiques importants affectent une grande partie de notre planète. Les différents modèles prévoient ainsi une hausse probable des précipitations et des températures dans plusieurs régions du monde. Le présent travail analyse l'évolution des températures enregistrées sur le centre Algérien (Sétif) et la porte du Sahara, Sud Algérie (Biskra) pendant plus de quarante années. Les évolutions de ces deux paramètres témoignent des bouleversements climatiques subis ces dernières années Des corrélations ont étaient obtenues dans ce sens pour expliquer l'influence des diffèrent paramètres en passant d'une zone steppique à une zone aride.

Le polycopie de cours est déstiné aux étudiants de tronc commun et technologie (première année) et comprends l'ensemble des TP.
La première partie traite de la structure de la matière et on trouve des TP de dosages acides-bases, oxydoréductions,..... avec des exempleset exercices.
La seconde partie concerne les TP de thermodynamique et équilibres chimiques, la cinétique et les phénomènes d'adsorptions.
