Exploring EFL Learners awareness and attitudes towards translation Cognitive Strategies استكشاف وعي متعلمي اللغة إلانجليزية كلغة أجنبية ومو اقفهم تجاه إلا ستراتيجيات المعرفية للترجمة

Abstract:
This study assessed EFL students' awareness and attitudes towards using
cognitive strategies while completing a translation task at Mohamed Boudiaf
University of M’sila. The researchers attempted to answer two main questions:
what awareness level do Civilization and Literature undergraduate students (Master
1 level) hold about cognitive strategies used in completing translation tasks? What
attitudes do they have towards these strategies? To answer these questions, an
exploratory survey field study was performed. Results show that participants are
aware of the reasoning strategy but cannot use it in their thinking process to
succeed in predicting meanings and proposing equivalences. Results also showed
that participants do not use all their cognitive strategies to revise every detail in the
target language; they simply compare the produced translation to the source text to
make sure the meaning is correct and rendered.

Investigating Translation Methods through the Eyes of Jean Delisle دراسة استقصائية لمناهج الترجمة من خالل عيون جون دليل

Abstract:
Translation plays a vital role in creating a prosperous milieu for cultural and linguistic
interchange; overcoming linguistic and civilizational barriers that hinder intercultural
communication. To be accomplished as a task facilitating inter-communication;
translation needs some methods to be examined and adopted. This paper aims at
unveiling the different methods of translation Delisle has come up to as a result of his
research to facilitate the task of translation. The present paper investigates and
analyzes the importance of translation methods and the best way to explain and use
them correctly to translation users through Delisle’s eyes. Results revealed that the
methods Delisle illustrated are not unique but they deserve to be a model as they share
some common features with other methods; which made of them somehow global.
Thus, Delisle’s methods of translation have been tested for their validity and reliability
in some examples of this paper.

تلعب الترجمة دورا محوريا في خلق وسط ناجح للتالقح الثقافي واللغوي عن طريق تجاوز
الحواجز اللغوية والحضارية التي تعيق التواصل بين الثقافات. وتحتاج الترجمة في هذا لتمحيص
وتبنّي بعض المناهج حتى تستكمل وظيفتها في تسهيل التواصل بين األمم. وتهدف هذه الورقة إلى
الكشف عن مختلف مناهج الترجمة التي توصل إليها دوليل نتيجة لبحثه لتسهيل العملية الترجمية.
وتحاول هذه الورقة البحثية استقصاء أهمية مناهج الترجمة وتحليل وأفضل السبل لشرحها
واستعمالها بشكل صحيح من خالل عيون دوليل. وتوصلت النتائج إلى أنه وبرغم أن المناهج التي
ذكرها دوليل لم تكن الوحيدة إال أنها تستحق أن تكون أنموذجا يحتذى به؛ ذلك أنها تتشارك مع
الكثير من المناهج األخرى في عدة جوانب مما يجعلها شاملة إلى حد ما. ومن هنا، تم اختبار
مناهج الترجمة التي اقترحها دوليل من حيث مصداقيتها ومدى صالحيتها من خالل دراسة بعض
األمثلة في هذه الورقة البحثية.

Enhancing Learners Specialized Languages Acquisition through an Effective Cognitive Approach of Translation in a Globalized Age

Language is a means of communication by excellence; we cannot imagine a successful communication without the use of language, whether spoken or written. Though world-wide development we live made of that large universe a small global village, facilitating the intercommunication and inter-culturality between different people to share not only ideas and conceptions but rather sciences and knowledge in all fields. The variety of fields and domains of knowledge led to the emergence of many different specialized languages and raised the need to learning and mastering them in a short period of time, for the warranty of a successful communication between different individuals of different cultural and civilizational backgrounds. Hence, being aware of the importance of specialized languages incites learners to think about the contribution of cognitive approach of translation in specialized languages acquisition and their mastery. For that, how can the cognitive approach of translation help learners in raising their capacities in learning specialized languages? What impact has that cognitive approach on learners’ specialized linguistic performance in a globalized age? How can educators and syllabi designers raise learners’ awareness of the importance of not only learning specialized languages but also how to use the cognitive approach of translation to reach that aim?

Hence, the importance of specialized languages incites learners to think about cognitive approach of translation contribution in specialized languages acquisition and mastery. This paper investigates the contribution of cognitive approach of translation in raising learners capacities to learn specialized languages and impact on their specialized linguistic performance in a globalized age; as well as the manner educators and syllabi designers use to raise learners’ awareness of the importance of not only learning specialized languages but also how to use the cognitive approach of translation to reach that aim.

ترجمة الحدیث النبوي الشریف في معترك التأویل والتفسیر والسیاق

ملخص
تمثل الترجمة أحد أهم میادین المعرفة الإنسانیة وأكثرها تأثیرا وتأثرا بالعولمة ونتاجها لارتباطها بصمیم عملیة
التفكیر والتأویل؛ بید أنّ بعض الظواهر اللغویة لا تقبل إجراء الترجمة علیها بالمعنى المتداول والمعروف للترجمة.
فالنص الدیني كالحدیث النبوي یطرح إشكالیات وجود ترجمة دقیقة وصحیحة له انطلاقا من تفسیره وتأویله حسب
السیاق. وبهذا تحاول هذه الورقة البحث في الفرق بین التفسیر والتأویل في الحدیث النبوي الشریف، وكیفیة تأثیر
السیاق على إدراك الفهم الصحیح وتحصیله لهذا النوع من النصوص و كذلك كیفیة تمكن المترجم من اختیار
وتبني المنهج الصحیح لترجمتها.

Translation of Holy Hadith and the Trilogy of Interpretation, explanation and Context
Abstract
This paper tends to shed light on the effects of globalization on translation for its pretty
relationship with thinking and interpretation processes. Hence; some linguistic phenomena
do not accept the pretty known procedure of translation; like religious texts such as Holy
Hadith that still recognizes some problems related to its exact and correct translation, based
on its explanation and interpretation depending on its context. Hereafter, this paper
investigates the difference between explanation and interpretation of Holy Hadith, the way
context affects on its understanding, and the correct translation strategy.

La Traduction du Hadith et la Trilogie de l’Interprétation, de l’Explication et du
Contexte
Résumé
La présente étude est liée aux effets de la globalisation sur la traduction pour sa bonne
relation avec la pensée et l’interprétation, bien que quelques phénomènes linguistiques
n’acceptent point la traduction comme le texte religieux et plus précisément le Hadith qui
connait quelques problèmes liés à sa traduction correcte et exacte. Pour cela, cette étude
constitue une investigation des différences entre explication et interprétation du Hadith, la
manière à laquelle le contexte affecte sur sa compréhension et la procédure correcte que le
traducteur adopte.
